OBITUARY:
James Robert (Jim) Mattox, 58, Marietta, died October 8, 2017 following a courageous battle against cancer. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kennesaw State University’s Business School. He was involved in various community activities including president of his Kiwanis Club, Big Brothers and Toast Masters. He was a thoughtful and kind son, brother, and uncle. He will be missed. Survivors include his mother, Josephine Mattox; siblings: Suzanne (James) Atterbury, Annette Stroud, Paul (Kate) Mattox, Josephine (Jeff) Lucas; nieces: Rachel Lucas, Carlin and Joseline Stroud, Jessica Mattox; nephews: Kent Atterbury, Joseph Lucas and AJ Mattox. He was preceded in death by his father, LTC James I. Mattox (Ret.) In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Northside Hospital Foundation, 770-667-4483.
